Carpenter
JGBowers, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Carpenter for commercial construction projects. The Carpenter will report directly to the Site Superintendent and / or Project Managers of JG Bowers, Inc. The position and daily duties will include much of the following but may not be limited to what is contained here. This description of the position, as well as the requirements to fulfill this position, is NOT to be considered all-inclusive. As with any growing company, additional requirements and/or duties may be added at any time.
- Reading plans and specifications
- Procure material and supplies
- Material Handling
- Understanding and navigating building codes
- Reviewing sites and gathering information prior to starting construction
- Designing solutions for customer’s problems and value engineering
- Operating company software systems
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of jobsite conditions
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with the management team
- Ensure that projects assigned are completed on time and within the approved budget

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience working as a Carpenter
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Deep knowledge of how processes work
- Must be detail oriented
- A total understanding of construction blueprints, specifications, and project requirements
- Excellent verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with owner’s, architects, developers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
- Possess excellent problem-solving abilities
- Be solution oriented and results driven
- Ability to plan and forecast
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a focus on Word and Excel
- Strong typing and computer skills
- Must have valid driver’s license
- OSHA 30 Certificate
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen and alcohol test
EDUCATION:
- Completion of an associate degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience is recommended
- A combination of a technical certificate and work experience may be accepted for the right candidate.
